Pennfield Schools has chosen the Gateway M265 computer for the Power Up Learning (freshman laptop) Program. We know that many of you thought the MacBook was “fun” and it is a good machine. In order for students to be working on the same system as the teachers and the other buildings we thought we should remain with the Windows operating system.Now that we have a computer it is time to think about how we can use it in class. Please let us know how you think the laptop can be used in your classes next year. Let us know specific programs and/or websites you would like to see used for instruction. How will having a laptop change your school day?
We need your help. We would like to have a logo for our Power Up Learning Program. We know that many of you are talented artists and could create an awesome logo. Create one and send it via an attachment in an e-mail to one-to-one@pennfield.net. Try to make it a .jpg or .gif file.
Pennfield’s current 8th grade students are about to be a part of a big change in how they learn at school! This is an initiative that we are very excited to offer, and it is one that we feel is critical in preparing you for the competition of a global society. As we plan and implement the program, we will use this site to post information for you as well as give you the opportunity to comment back to us. We encourage you to visit often and let us know what you think. Although this program is aimed at next year’s Freshmen, we feel it will have a positive effect on how students learn in the other grades as well.
